Shyla has been working as a Registered Massage Therapist for nine years and has gained a versatile background in the field over this time. She has had the opportunity to work in many different settings including on-site sports massage with novice as well as professional athletes including the 2013 junior women’s selection camp for Hockey Canada, in a physiotherapy setting, as well as on-site work at long term care facilities. She has also had the opportunity to teach many aspects of the massage therapy program with a specialization in human anatomy and physiology which gives her a very strong base of knowledge of the form and function of the human body. This, partnered with specialized training in therapeutic taping and techniques such as MFR, NMT, and IASTM allows her to better assist patients in reaching their goals, whether it be improving and maintaining healthy posture, rehabilitation after an injury or surgery, or improving overall well-being and decreasing stress.
